BA, English, Vancouver Island University
Bachelor of Education, Vancouver Island University

Originally from Calgary, Madelaine has resided in the Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, since 1994, the unceded territories of the Quw'utsun People.

Madelaine holds Undergraduate Degrees in English and Education, and certifications in administration, marketing, and tourism. As our Administrator, she brings decades of experience in administration and upper management to our team. She has worked as an educator, a trainer for manufacturing companies, at law firms, and in many different capacities with various non-profits.

Her passion for learning about First Nations history and culture started with family travels to remote communities on Vancouver Island and Haida Gwaii, and grew during her time as a transcriptionist, where she was tasked with transcribing stories told by Coast Salish elders.

When she isn't uncovering her own family history, Madelaine enjoys playing the cello in a local string orchestra, solving criminal cases in novels, and exploring trails and beaches in Cowichan and throughout Vancouver Island.
